iPhone 17 Advert Challenge
Rules
This challenge is designed to celebrate creativity, craftsmanship, and high-impact 3D visuals.
Participants must follow the rules below to ensure fair judging and authentic work.

Resolution
Animation:
◉ Length must be 10–30 seconds
◉ Aspect ratio must be 16:9 or 9:16
◉ Minimum resolution:
• 1920 × 1080 (Landscape)
• 1080 × 1920 (Vertical)
Still Render:
◉ Allowed aspect ratios:
16:9, 9:16, or 4:5
◉ Minimum resolution:
1920px on the longest side

1 Submission Per Artist
Each artist may submit only one entry.
Participants must choose one category:
◉ Animation
◉ Still Render
Artists cannot submit to both categories.
Only one final submission will be accepted per participant. Multiple entries may result in disqualification.

Asset Usage
Must Use Provided iPhone Model with a minimum of 3 other provide assets.
Generative AI
Not Allowed:
◉ AI-generated 3D models
◉ AI-generated scene layouts
◉ AI-generated animations
Allowed:
◉ Upscaling final renders
◉ Generating texture maps

Proof of Work
To verify authenticity, participants must include proof of work.
Required:
◉ 1 clay render (no textures)
◉ 1 viewport or wireframe screenshot
These must clearly show your scene setup and geometry.

Social Media
Participants must post their final submission on Instagram.
Required:
◉ Tag @xyzmodels
◉ Tag @the.pixel.lab
◉ Tag @dropandrender
You must tag all (3) accounts in the caption of your Instagram post.
Your account + post must remain public until winners are announced.

Respect
This challenge celebrates creativity and community.
Submissions must not include:
◉ Hate speech
◉ Discriminatory visuals
◉ Political messaging
◉ Offensive or abusive imagery
Respect the community and keep the focus on great art.
Prizes
For all participants: Everyone who submits an entry will receive a special coupon for 20 free bonus credits when signing up to DropandRender. Combined with the 25 credits new accounts already receive, that gives artists up to 45 credits to potentially render their full challenge project on the farm, completely free.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does my animation have to loop?
No, animations don't have to be seamless loops but that would be cool!
Can I use bought assets?
Yes, you can use assets that you have purchased but you must also use the assets that we have provided as well. A minimum of 3 assets from our selection found in the ZIP File.
Can my submission use NSFW elements such as nudity, blood and gore, legible swearing?
No. we DO NOT allow any form of NSFW elements.
What happens if I don't follow the rules?
You are disqualified and forfeit all rights to the visuals that you submit.
Can I use the challenge assets in other personal or commercial projects?
You can use them for other personal projects but you are NOT ALLOWED to use in Commercial projects.
